Hi everyone, I'm Brice GOBLIN, I'm a computer science researcher. Basically, it means that when I see my friends or family they ask me to install software, to fix their computer or to install a printer but this is not what computer science is in reality. Hi, I'm Sylvie BOLDO, I'm a computer science researcher and I enjoy explaining to children and adults that a computer is not a magic box but just a piece of scrap. This is why we offer this part on computer science and its basics, to explain the basics of computer science, in other words, what we think is important in order to understand computer science. This section will be divided in 4 parts. Firstly, we will explain how to represent information in the computer, whether it is text, pictures, numbers, sound, etc. Then we'll talk about algorithmic so how to write a recipe to solve a computer problem. Then we'll talk about programming, so how to concretely program this algorithm in a language that the machine understands to solve our problem. To conclude, we'll explain what is inside this piece of scrap, how it works, the processor, etc., and the networks that interconnect the computers. Well, let's go then.
